David Plattner, Founder and CEO


Since 2004 David has been developing sustainable “Eco-Nonmic” methodologies that are designed to directly impact forest communities globally. He has over 40 years experience as a large scale thinker and entrepreneur. He has combined investment banking methodologies with social activism and philanthropy and for 5 years he lived immersed in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest in order to focus on his passion of protecting, conserving and stewarding bio-diverse threatened lands.
He worked as an investment banker in London and led efforts to recapitalize a 200 year old British bank while also serving as Board Member and investor and or partner in various businesses across a myriad of industries including a New York based entertainment business. During the last 14 years, he has worked tirelessly to protect rainforest lands through proprietary conservation agreements in Brazil, Indonesia, Cambodia, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Nepal and the Philippines and has been advisor to dozens of sustainable enterprises serving as the community bridge to the capital markets and eco consciencious corporations.

Charles Vincent, Operations



Finished his 27 year career with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) where he held high level positions for the last 18 years. He was WFP Representative and Country Director in Afghanistan and the DR Congo where he led two of the most complex operations for WFP, as well as in Haiti in the late 90’s. He also directed operations in the former Yugoslavia during the 1992-95 war in that region. Charles developed and promoted the concept of local procurement of commodities from local farmers’ cooperatives and associations. He also started a number of innovative projects including reforestation in Afghanistan and rehabilitation of logistic infrastructure in DR Congo.

Edmund Burns, Legal


Edmund has served as an attorney practicing law in New York City since 1967 where he has been a principal of the Wall Street Firm; Burns Kennedy Shilling & O’Shea that specialize in Corporation and Commercial Law, Real Estate and Environmental Conservation as well as Trials and Appeals Law.  


Edmund has worked closely with David for the past 10 years and in particular on the development of the Raintrust Conservation and Tribal Rights Agreement in various countries. 

Dennis Luts, Chief of Staff



Dennis is a highly versatile entrepreneur and organiser specialising in start-ups, new developments and implementation and has strong affiliation with emerging opportunities, combining them with technology. Developed expert knowledge of online networks, peer2peer organization, cryptocurrencies and the blockchain. Before that he co-produced large scale music events in Holland with attendance up to 80.000 people, specializing in (online) media, business stratgey, concept development, marketing, sponsoring and project mangement.

Dr. Bremley Lyngdoh, Business Development


Bremley is a Climate Change and Sustainable Development professional with over 20 years experience working with Governments, IGOs, NGOs and the Private Sector developing a range of innovative projects in Asia, Africa and South America. He received the prestigious WWF Prince Bernhard Scholarship for Environmental Leadership and worked at UNDP and for the Environment Department of the World Bank. He has served at the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development Secretariat and was appointed by the Prime Minister in India as the Youth Ambassador for his country at the UN Millennium Summit. Bremley received post graduate degrees from Columbia University in the USA, the London School of Economics in the UK, the University of Geneva in Switzerland and the Intercultural Open University in the Netherlands. He has a dual Ph.D. in Sustainable Development from the Azteca University in Mexico and the Central University in Nicaragua.

Michael has served for 35 years with the United Nations. He was the Deputy Chief of Staff for Secretary-General Koffi Anans and also served as the Director for Political Affairs at United Nations as well as Peacekeeping and Humanitarian Affairs in the Office of the Secretary-General and, Special Representative for Cyprus.
He began his career with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and worked with UNHCR in different capacities in New York, Iran, Mexico, Haiti and Geneva.

Patrick Hogan, Advisor


Patrick Hogan, Director at World Wind at NASA


Patrick is an environmental scientist with over 22 years of service to NASA, He has managed programs from Superfund subsurface investigations to education technology research for delivering NASA content into the classroom. school science, and is a Registered Geologist in the State of California. Currently, Patrick manages the NASA World Wind project, a team of world class engineers producing open source virtual globe software that has received awards, including NASA Software of the Year for 2009. Patrick has been managing NASA open source projects since 2002, incubating competitive technologies to deliver scientific content. This includes the very successful NASA World Wind, a fully navigable 3D geospatial data visualization platform.

Damon Torres, Advisor

Damon Torres, IT Strategy

Damon is a multimedia producer, software developer, inventor, designer and consultant who has founded six digital media companies. His most recent is IMU – Interactive Media Universe, LLC, based in New York, NY. He created some of the world’s first CD-ROMs, digital pre-press for magazines, Web sites, mobile media for phones and PDAs, and Interactive TV programming and he created and founded Robocast in 2007 where he is recently granted a patent on a universal playlist engine for digital media. Damon has served on the board of Earth Day NY since 1992 and was one of the key on site managers of the landmark 1990 concert event that drew 1 million people to Central Park.

Dr. Kriengsak “Dan” Chareonwongsak, Senior Advisor

Dr. Dan has served as an advisor to the past 5 Former Prime Ministers of Thailand on Economic Affairs. He is currently an Executive Board member for Thailand’s Democrat Party, a Member of Parliament and recently served as Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Development in the House of Representatives. As a businessman, he is currently the Chairman of the Success Group of Companies, a conglomerate of businesses with interests spanning as broadcasting, publishing, multimedia production and serves as the Advisor to the Executive Chairman of the Board of the CP Group, one of Thailand’s largest companies. Dr. Dan has a PhD and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University and graduated from the National Defense College of Thailand. He is Presently a Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s Center for Business and Government, an Associate of the Weather head Center for International Affairs, Harvard University and a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University.

Paul Chamniern, Sustainability and Implementation



Since 2013 Paul has served as the IUCN-Thailand Country Representative. He brings more than twenty five years of experience in social planning, research, teaching, consulting and project team leading to his previous position as Team Leader of GTZ Urban Environment Management and as Senior Director at Thailand Environment Institute (TEI). With a team of more than fifty professionals, consultants and support staff; He has led TEI to grow and diversify in both urban and rural project activities that includes research, national policy, local development plan, strategy management on natural resources and environment, and climate change adaptation. Dr. Cameron Richards, Sustainability and Community Relations


Cameron is currently the co-chair of a new UTM (Malaysia) research group called SUSTiP (Sustainable STI policy solutions for industry, government and society. He specializes in sustainable policy-building research and strategies in wider social as well as organizational contexts – now with a particular focus on ‘science, technology and innovation’ policy studies and research inquiry. He is currently developing cross- cultural sustainable ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ models for the Competence Center for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainable Business Practice for the Malaysia-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC).

Jane Glavan, Sustainability and Community Relations

Jane brings over 15 years experience in the environmental data, analysis and facilitation field through her multiple roles. As the Partnership Project Manager of the Abu Dhabi Global Environmental Data Initiative (AGEDI), Jane led on a range of its milestone projects. These included its Blue Carbon and Ecosystem Services implementation, still the most comprehensive project of its kind worldwide, and the Regional and National Climate Change Programme looking at adaptation and vulnerability, which was the most comprehensive study of the issue for the Arabian Peninsula region. As previously the Eye on Earth, Eye on Oceans and Blue Carbon as well as the Eye on Biodiversity Special Initiative Facilitators provided her invaluable global contacts with data, research and science best in class experts.

Nicolas Vila, GIS Operations


Nicolas is a software engineer expert in 3D virtual globes with over 14 years of experience in development and geomatics fields. He graduated with a Master in computer sciences in late 2002. He began his career in geomatics in 2003 as GIS software engineer with first releases of NASA WorldWind. After 3 years he joined Telespazio France in 2007 and spent 5 years working for ESA (European Space Agency), implementing satellite catalogues visualization software still in use today. Since 2011 Nicolas works for the Thales Group and works in 3D visualization software development, for aeronautics and space customers such as CNES, ESA, Eumetsat, Dassault, Airbus Defence and Space. 


Nicolas has worked with David for the past 7 years in order to help him saving the Rainforest and the Mangroves around the world and has developed innovations and breakthrough technologies in 3D, drones and aerial photogrammetry..

Mark Hodges, Science


Mark has over 30 years of experience in environmental engineering, social and environmental impact assessment and in the energy sector in over 50 countries. Mark is a registered Consultant to the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, and has worked extensively for the US Agency for International Development, including an assignment as Resident Environmental Advisor, seconded to Pakistan’s Ministry of Water and Power. Prior to this he worked for AECOM Construction, one of the worlds largest construction companies and for Environmental Resources Management (ERM), a leading global provider of environmental, health, safety, risk and social consulting services with 150 offices in over 40 countries.

Paul Risley, Communications


Paul recently served as the Senior Communications Officer for the World Bank for South East Asia, including managing communications during the rapid expansion of development assistance in Myanmar 2012-2015. Prior to that, he was the Senior External Relations Officer for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), the Asia regional arm of the United Nations, located in Bangkok, Thailand. Before joining ESCAP in April 2010, he also worked as the Asia Regional Communications Advisor and Spokesperson for the UN World Food Programme,communications and policy advisor on climate change at the US Environmental Protection Agency 1997-1999. On secondment from the EPA, Mr. Risley served as the Director of Communications for the White House Climate Change Task Force in 1997.  From 1995 to 1997, he was the Director of Communications for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Stephen Lucas, Communications


Stephen Lucas has over 11 year experience working in Capital Markets trading control Operations for Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank in London before moving into Asset Management where he worked in challenging Cross product positions at Bluecrest Capital, Thames River Capital and most recently helped set up Pictet Asset Management Asia’s Emerging Market trading control functions.    Stephen joined RainTrust in 2017 as he is passionate about the Environment and wants to ensure that the RainTrust team and its partners Protect and restore as many of the threatened lands that we can, with  Sustainable community projects.
